Welcome to the 3rd Annual Country Medieval Education Festival

Journey back in time as King Henry II and his Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine welcome visitors to the Village of Whittingham in this year of 1168.

Join in the workings and life of a Medieval Village. We welcome you to come learn, and enjoy the merriment.

shield Meet the Royalty, practice the Arts of Courtesy,and Swear your Fealty.

See the daily life of the commoner.  Visit the gardens and farmer, See how food is prepared and presented, Meet the herbalist.  Learn about clothing and have a photo opportunity.

Make your own dipped candle.

Visit the monks to hear their music and see their importance as scribes.  Try some calligraphy.

 The guilds of the village will demonstrate their crafts.  Learn about many varied arts including pottery, silver smithing, spinning, weaving, decoration, fabric arts, stone carving, blacksmithing and wood turning.

Attend the Joust and cheer for the brave knights on horseback.

View instruments of punishment and persuasion.

Shop at the skilled merchants demonstrating and teaching their trades.

Practice military skills with archery and swordplay.

Food and drink are available to purchase and abundant seating is also available.

Please note that we will NOT be having a weekend Renaissance Festival in 2012.  We hope to return to having a weekend festival, in addtion to the education days in 2013.
